Troubleshooting
#The camera does not open
- You must not be dead, cuffed or ragdolling, and no flag in
Config.BlockedStatesmay be set on you. - In a vehicle the engine must be off and the vehicle must stand still.
- A short press of V is the normal GTA camera. Hold V for about 4.5 seconds, or type
/gameplaycam. - Press F8 and look for red error lines after starting the resource.
#The studio does not open
The studio opens with Enter while the camera is open. Check that the camera is open and not in the 1 second after it opened. If you changed Config.Controls.Studio, check that the control index is free. Chat commands are not reliable while the camera is open, so use the key.
#The character crouches or the inventory opens
You pressed a key that another script binds with a key mapping (Ctrl is crouch in qb-smallresources, Tab is the inventory). No script can block those. Use the default fast and slow keys (Shift and the right mouse button) or choose other controls in Config.Controls.
#The studio key of a saved key binding
Fast, slow and the studio key are game controls and do not appear in the FiveM key settings. The reset, close, cinematic and live camera 10 keys do; players can change them there.
#Parts of the HUD stay visible in cinematic mode
Your HUD is a separate resource. Add it to Config.Cinematic.HudIntegrations or HudEvents (see Integrations). Chat messages need the same.
#A role does not work
- Check the permission or job name and type
/camrolein game. - With QBCore the job only counts while the player is on duty (
Config.RoleRequireOnDuty). - After you change an ACE permission, restart the server or run the
add_aceline in the console. The role is checked each time the camera opens.
#The weather does not change in the scene panel
A weather script keeps overwriting it. Add its client events to Config.Scene.SyncDisableEvents and SyncEnableEvents. Weather and time overrides need the director role.
#A saved path does not load
A path belongs to the place where it was saved. A player must be near it; a director is taken there automatically. A path made while following a target needs a target when it is loaded.
#"No vehicle or person in the middle of the view"
Aim the middle of the screen at the target before you press Follow what I look at. The vehicle you are sitting in cannot be followed.
#Following stops by itself
The target went past followMaxDistance for your role, or it disappeared from the game world. A vehicle driven by another player can disappear when it gets very far from your character. Set followMaxDistance to 0 for no limit from the resource; the game's own limit on far away vehicles still applies.
#A filter does nothing
Filters use the game's colour modifiers named in Config.Studio.Filters. Check the name, and that another script is not setting a colour modifier at the same time.
#The camera closes by itself
The camera closes at the distance limit of the role, when the player dies or is cuffed, when the engine of a vehicle starts, or when the player leaves the area of a live fixed camera and no camera works.
#Asking for help
Include your server build, the resource version and the F8 console error. Remove personal data from logs first.
